"Metropolitan areas, like downtown Baton Rouge, serve as a central hub for culture and activity," said Ann Shaneyfelt Executive Director of Louisiana Clean Fuels. "When these hubs support Electric Vehicles, the overall EV adoption rate increases greatly."

Entergy, a Louisiana based Utility Company, provided a $75,000 grant to purchase and install the charging stations and provide funding to assist in covering electricity costs. Around the country, utility companies have been taking the initiative to build EV infrastructure that will not only help the adoption rate of electric vehicles, but also serve as an example of what EV infrastructure should look like. The "Green Park" initiative in Baton Rouge is an exceptional example of coherent EVSE infrastructure design in southern region of the US.

"Not only does this Green Park initiative in Baton Rouge promote Electric Vehicle adoption with the many customers that shop downtown," said Bill Williams, Business Development Manager at Telefonix, Inc., "but it also promotes Workplace Charging to the many employees that commute to work in the downtown area every day."

The company has now introduced a wall-mounted version of the level 1 and level 2 PowerPost EV charging stations. All PowerPost chargers provide an economical charging solution that also features a retractable cord reel that eliminates the clutter and potential hazards of long cables as well as offering the potential for custom branding. Telefonix is delivering on electric vehicle charging innovations with a cost of ownership that creates a win-win for both the EV driver and the parking facility.
