L1 PowerPost™ Receives UL Listing for the Electric Vehicle Charging Station and Ships First Order to the Denver International Airport

 

Waukegan, Illinois (August 28, 2013) –Telefonix Inc. announced today that their Level 1 electric vehicle charging station called the L1 PowerPost passed UL testing and is now UL listed. Telefonix announced that they are now manufacturing the product and filling orders from their plant in Waukegan, Illinois. This announcement coincides with the first shipment of L1 PowerPost charging stations to the Denver International Airport.

 

“We have seen an increase in the number of customers who drive electric vehicles to the airport and plug them into existing electrical outlets in the garages,” said Kim Day, Denver’s Manager of Aviation. “These new charging stations are more convenient, safer and designed to work specifically with electric and plug-in vehicles. The airport continues to evolve to meet the needs of our customers and support the city’s Greenprint Denver sustainability initiative.”

The L1 PowerPost is specifically designed for parking areas where vehicles park for several hours. Locations that are prime targets to enjoy the benefits of Level 1 electric vehicle charging include workplaces, airports, hotels, train stations and schools. Denver International Airport selected Level 1 charging stations because they are efficient, inexpensive, cost less to install and will meet the needs of airport customers. The stations will provide a full charge to most plug-in vehicles in about eight hours, while the average customer at DIA parks for 1.4 days
