Waukegan, Illinois (June 26, 2015) Telefonix® Inc., a leading developer of cord reel technology and manufacturer of PowerPost® commercial electric vehicle charging stations (EVSEs), will be displaying their low current electric vehicle charging solutions for long dwell parking situations at the International Parking Institute (IPI) Expo June 29 to July 2 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
In the two years since Telefonix launched their first electric vehicle (EV) charging product, the L1 PowerPostTM charging station, their low-current chargers have been installed in a quarter of the states around the U.S. and in Canada. As EV proliferation grows, the charging infrastructure needed to support this trend is being built.
Many employers are finding an opportunity to both provide this infrastructure and build goodwill with their EV driving employees by offering a commute recovery charge for free. Assuming a ‘commute recovery charge’ replaces the energy used during a typical 20 mile commute, the electricity cost is less than $1- less than the cost of a cup of coffee.
“A diverse mix of companies have installed PowerPost EV charging stations and are taking advantage of the branding opportunities on the units as well as the great PR that comes with delivering charging as a perk,” says Bill Williams, Head of PowerPost EVSE North American sales. “Airports, hospitals, utilities, universities, casinos, business complexes and more have chosen PowerPost chargers for their lower energy usage, retractable cord reel technology, branding opportunities and more.”
The PowerPost EV charging product line can be seen at IPI Expo at Booth 824. IPI Expo is the largest parking exposition in the world, providing a forum for keynotes, education, and programs related to the parking industry.
The Telefonix PowerPost electric vehicle charging station product line is focused on low current solutions for commercial parking lots or garages where cars are parked for two or more hours. The L1 PowerPost EVSE led the way as the first commercial Level 1 EV charging station, and the L2 PowerPostTM EVSE is making an impact on the Level 2 product category as the first low current, commercial Level 2 EV charging station. All PowerPost chargers provide an economical charging solution that also features a retractable cord reel that eliminates the clutter and potential hazards of long cables as well as offering the potential for custom branding. Telefonix is delivering on electric vehicle charging innovations with a cost of ownership that creates a win-win for both the EV driver and the parking facility.
With over 25 years in business and more than 60 patents issued to date for its cable innovations, Telefonix is a leader in cord reel technology. In addition to its portfolio of cord reel products, the company also designs and manufactures custom electronics for customers in highly regulated industries. In 2011, the idea to leverage the company’s capabilities to address unmet needs in the electric vehicle charging station market was born. Today, the same proven cord reel technology that flies on more than 80% of long-haul aircraft is designed and incorporated into the PowerPost® commercial low-current electric vehicle charger product line. Based in Waukegan, Illinois, the Telefonix team is adept at delivering smart solutions to market. With a staff of highly skilled engineers, project managers, manufacturing experts and more, the Telefonix team delivers the quality product you expect and service you need for success.
